Núria Torras joins the EIC Women Leadership Programme

Núria Torras, Senior Researcher at Fraunhofer CAT, was selected to participate in the EIC Women Leadership Programme, a skills enhancement and networking programme for women researchers and entrepreneurs offered by the European Innovation Council. Her participation represents an important opportunity to further develop leadership capabilities, strengthen strategic thinking and engage with a European community of women innovators working across research, entrepreneurship and technology-driven innovation.

Over the coming months, she will work one-on-one with experienced mentors while also taking part in peer-to-peer learning, group activities, online training sessions, and networking opportunities. The programme began with the EIC Summit 2026, an in-person kick-off event in Brussels, where Núria Torras connected with founders, researchers, investors and ecosystem partners from the broader European innovation ecosystem. Now that the online workshops have started, we took the opportunity to speak with Núria about her experience so far and her expectations for the programme:

Núria, what inspired you to take part in the EIC Women Leadership Programme?

I was inspired by the opportunity to connect with other women scientists in leadership roles who are working to bring research results closer to the market. I look forward to sharing experiences, learning from their journeys, and expanding my professional network through this European community.

What have you taken away from this programme so far, and what do you think this experience will contribute to your career as a researcher?

I believe the programme will help me further develop my leadership and communication skills while broadening my perspective beyond the laboratory. Through the training sessions and mentoring, I expect to gain valuable tools to maximize the impact of my research and support my professional growth, while connecting with inspiring women from different sectors.
