The German Chamber of Commerce held a new edition of the German-Spanish Digital Industry Day, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Spain. The event brought together institutional representatives, experts, and technology companies to discuss the challenges and opportunities of Europe’s digital transformation.

This week, Ms. Gemma Geis, Deputy Mayor of Girona and Vice President of the Girona Provincial Council (Diputació de Girona), and Mr. Xavier Aldeguer, Deputy Mayor for the Area of Talent, Innovation, Health and Community of the city, visited the facilities of Fraunhofer Spain and the Fraunhofer Center for Applied Theragnostics (Fraunhofer CAT).

Fraunhofer CAT is committed to fostering young talent, promoting knowledge transfer, and strengthening international collaboration.

The Fraunhofer Center for Applied Theragnostics (Fraunhofer CAT) has incorporated a new DMi8 Spinning Disk Confocal Scanner, expanding its capacity to study tissue models and organ-on-a-chip devices with better precision.

On March 17, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft held a new edition of its annual “Netzwert” symposium, a key platform for internal exchange across the Fraunhofer network. The event brought together researchers and representatives from different institutes to discuss applied research, technology transfer, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Fraunhofer Spain participated in the latest edition of the Coffee Connection networking event held on March 12 at the Barcelona Science Park. Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the Spanish government, the regional government of Catalonia, and the city of Barcelona have signed a joint declaration to strengthen research in personalized medicine. The new Fraunhofer Center for Applied Theranostic (CAT) in Barcelona will combine diagnostics and therapy to develop innovative technologies for precision medicine. The center will unite the expertise of the Fraunhofer IBMT and the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) within Catalonia’s dynamic life sciences ecosystem. This initiative marks a major step toward boosting Europe’s scientific excellence and innovation capacity.
