On March 17, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft held a new edition of its annual “Netzwert” symposium, a key platform for internal exchange across the Fraunhofer network. The event brought together researchers and representatives from different institutes to discuss applied research, technology transfer, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Fraunhofer Spain participated in the latest edition of the Coffee Connection networking event held on March 12 at the Barcelona Science Park. The event brought together members of the Park’s scientific and entrepreneurial community to foster collaboration and exchange knowledge across the life sciences and innovation ecosystem.

On January 26, Fraunhofer Spain Research welcomed three international researchers, interested in learning first-hand about the center’s research lines and technological capabilities. Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the Spanish government, the regional government of Catalonia, and the city of Barcelona have signed a joint declaration to strengthen research in personalized medicine. The new Fraunhofer Center for Applied Theranostic (CAT) in Barcelona will combine diagnostics and therapy to develop innovative technologies for precision medicine. The center will unite the expertise of the Fraunhofer IBMT and the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) within Catalonia’s dynamic life sciences ecosystem. This initiative marks a major step toward boosting Europe’s scientific excellence and innovation capacity.
