Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the Spanish government, the regional government of Catalonia, and the city of Barcelona have signed a joint declaration to strengthen research in personalized medicine. The new Fraunhofer Center for Applied Theranostic (CAT) in Barcelona will combine diagnostics and therapy to develop innovative technologies for precision medicine. The center will unite the expertise of the Fraunhofer IBMT and the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) within Catalonia’s dynamic life sciences ecosystem. This initiative marks a major step toward boosting Europe’s scientific excellence and innovation capacity.
