Last June, Fraunhofer CAT hosted Isabell Karnatz, a PhD researcher from Saarland University carrying out her doctoral work at the facilities of the Fraunhofer Institute for Biomedical Engineering IBMT.

On 3 July, Fraunhofer Spain and the Fraunhofer Center for Applied Theragnostics (Fraunhofer CAT) took part in a round table dedicated exclusively to Fraunhofer CAT and its role within the Catalan research and innovation ecosystem. The session was held in the framework of Barcelona Innovation Coast, a city-wide project led by Barcelona City Council to foster innovation in science and technology, with more than forty active members from key sectors such as life sciences, mobility, energy, technology and digitalisation.

Barcelona hosted the XIX Annual Conference of the Biomedical Research Technology Platforms (XIX Conferencia de las Plataformas Tecnológicas de Investigación Biomédica) on May 28, bringing together key stakeholders from across Spain’s biomedical innovation ecosystem to discuss how to strengthen collaboration between academia, healthcare, industry, and technology centers.

The German Chamber of Commerce held a new edition of the German-Spanish Digital Industry Day, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Spain. The event brought together institutional representatives, experts, and technology companies to discuss the challenges and opportunities of Europe’s digital transformation.

The Fraunhofer Center for Applied Theragnostics (Fraunhofer CAT) has incorporated a new DMi8 Spinning Disk Confocal Scanner, expanding its capacity to study tissue models and organ-on-a-chip devices with better precision.

On March 17, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft held a new edition of its annual “Netzwert” symposium, a key platform for internal exchange across the Fraunhofer network.
